Memory Jars, 2021

Taking smell as a starting point from which to explore both the nature of memory and a sense of place, Memory Jars presented different closed environments, enhanced by scent, to the viewer. ‘Captured’ behind glass in the tradition of Victorian hobbyists, these preserved ‘miniature worlds’ come from a place of an imagined future generation, looking back.
